Our Story

Here Fishy was born from one of the most difficult moments of my life. In April 2021, my youngest son Isaac passed away due to brain cancer.

The day after his passing, I couldn't sit still. As a lover of fishing, I loaded my kayak and headed out on the water. That day, the fish were biting well — and a cardinal followed me the entire time I was out there. I took that as Isaac telling me he was okay, and that he would always be with me.

That day, I caught 33 fish, and then the bite stopped completely. Not another fish after that.

When I shared the story with my best friend, he asked if I knew the number 33 had significance in the Bible — especially related to Isaac. In the story of Abraham and Isaac, God promised Abraham a son. On the 33rd time Abraham's name is mentioned in the Bible, God fulfills that promise.

You'll find the number 33 on all of our products — a constant reminder of Isaac, of faith, and of that day on the water. The original rendering of the stick man fishing included the 33 on his hat, and that's how Here Fishy was born.
